Fred Eugene Freeman, age 83, of Poplar Springs Road, Greeneville, died Wednesday morning, December 9, 2009 at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Freeman was a former truck driver and he retired from TRW Ross Gear. He was a member of Love's Memorial United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by three sisters and one brother-in-law: Emma Mae Fox, Betty Easterly, and Alma Dean and Jackie Holt; his adoptive family with whom he made his home: Phyllis and Rex Carter, Margaret and Norman Smith, Carlene and Carol Smith; several nieces and nephews; and his special friends: Frances and Jack Smith and Charles Denton.

He was a son of the late Christle C. and Pearl Freeman and was preceded in death by one sister: Lorraine Lawing; and two brothers: James and Bill Freeman.

The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 12 Noon, Friday, December 11, 2009, in the Chapel at Kiser-Rose Hill with Rev. Clay Wilkerson and Rev. Owen Freeman officiating. Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.

His pallbearers will be Bobby Holt, Freddy Holt, Jimmy Easterly, David Fox, David Beverly, Danny Ricker, Billy Lynn Freeman, and Timmy Bowers.
