Cheryl Marie "Sherry" Ahneman Wagner, age 65, of Greensboro, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Greene Point Health & Rehabilitation. She was born on November 27, 1946 in Brooklyn, New York to Edward Francis Ahneman of Peachtree City, GA and the late Gertrude Morahan Ahneman. She was a high school graduate of Ladycliff Academy in New York and a graduate of State University of New York at Plattsburg with a Bachelor of Science. She continued her education at Salem State University in Salem, Massachusetts where she earned a Master's Degree in Education and a Master's in Administration. She married Paul John Wagner on September 2, 1967 in Yorktown Heights, New York. After thirty years in the Beverly Public School System, as a teacher and vice president of the Teacher's Union she retired on December 5, 2007. She was a member of the Holy Redeemer Church in Topsfield, MA and a member of the Lion's Club. For the last two years, they have made their home in Greensboro on Lake Oconee.

In addition to her husband, Paul Wagner of Greensboro, GA, Sherry is survived by a daughter, Tracey Wagner Atwood of Belgrade Lakes, ME; a son Brian Wagner (Laura) of Boston, MA; sister, Holly Ahneman Stier (Mark) of Stonefield, CT; two brothers, Edward "Skip" Ahneman (Lu) of Stanford, CT and James Ahneman (Sara) of Harrisonburg, VA; grandchildren, James Paul Wagner, Tyler Jones, Brian Jones, Melanie Jones and Hunter Atwood; as well as a number of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Gertrude Morahan Ahneman; her sister, Teresa Ahneman Henderson and her brother, Gregory Ahneman.

The family will have a private memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Lion's Club, Massachusetts Lions Eye Research. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
