Stephen Mark "Steve" Cannon, age 48, after a long battle with kidney failure, departed this world suddenly on August 8, 2011 and entered Heaven's Gates. Steve was a faithful member of Glenwood Baptist Church in Jacksonville. He loved hunting, fishing and enjoyed spending time outdoors. Steve had been employed by Severt Trucking Company. He and Pat enjoyed their work driving cross country. Steve was loved and will be deeply missed by his family.
He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Mark Cannon II, his father, Andrew J. Cannon and his grandparents, Effie and Fred Hurst, Sr. He is survived by his wife Pat, his mother, Beulah M. Cannon of Palatka, his sister, Pam Davis and husband Mike of Palatka, a niece, Heather Robinson and husband David of Palatka, a great-nephew, Austin Robinson and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 12, 2011 at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka with Pastor Jimmie Weatherford officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill East Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 A.M. till the time of services.
