Stella E. Ray, age 84, of 66 Jeffrey Avenue, died Wednesday morning in the Crestwood Care Center after an extended illness. She was born August 19, 1907 in Shelby, the daughter of Harry and Mary (Haley) Van Wagner.

Mrs. Ray was a beautician and homemaker. She was a member of Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society.

Mrs. Ray is survived by her husband of 51 years, William L. Ray, whom she married on June 17, 1940; 1 daughter and son-in-law: Mary Ann and Tom McConnell of Sullivan, Ohio; 1 grandson Todd McConnell of Sullivan, Ohio; 5 nieces and 1 nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 brother, and 3 sisters.

Calling hours will be today from 6-8:30 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home where a wake service will be held at 8:30 P.M. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 A.M. at Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church with her pastor father John C. Missler, officiating. Burial will be in Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial expressions may be made to St. Mary's School and left in care of the funeral home.
