A daughter of John B. and Virginia (Gates) Smeltzer. She was united in marriage with Samuel N. Dodson on May 22, 1889. He died Jul. 30, 1938.

She was survived by eleven children:

Mrs. Harry Weiser of Langdondale;
Pauline Hazel Yohn of Altoona'
Mildred Williams of Altoona;
Mrs. William (Ruby) McCready of Duncansville;
Mrs. William J. Nevitt of Altoona;
Bernice Dodson, at home
Andrew R. Dodson of Everett;
John E. Dodson at home;
Robert O. Dodson of Fort Meade, Maryland; and
Kenneth Paul Dodson, at home.

She was also survived by one sister, Harriet Elder of Pittsburgh and 27 grandchildren.

Mrs. Dodson was a memer of the Hopewell Methodist church.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Ralph Jones of Altoona, assisted by Rev. Charles Karns of Hopewell, at the Hopewell Methodist church. The funeral cortege left the home of a daughter, Mrs. J. E. Walter, 354 Baynton Avenue, South Lakemont. Interment was made in the Hopewell cemetery by Huff's funeral service.
