She was a real estate appraiser and, in 1982, moved to Mesa, Ariz., where she continued in real estate. In 1985, she moved to Casper for a brief period before returning to Mesa.
She moved back to Worland in 1996, then moved to southern California in 1997. Because of her battle with multiple sclerosis and declining health, she relocated to Pocatello, Idaho, in 2002 to be near her brother, Gary.
Memorial services for Chubbuck, Idaho, resident Rebecca Jean Shipley, 58, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, June 18, in Veile Mortuary Chapel in Worland by the Shipley family.
At her request, a party will immediately follow the service.
Cremation has taken place and her ashes will be scattered later by her family.
She died June 13, 2004, in LeMesa, Calif.
Born July 22, 1945, in Worland, she was the daughter of James LeRoy and Phyllis Genelle (Horel) Shipley; was raised and educated in Cody and Greybull; and graduated from Greybull High School in 1963.
An active member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority in Worland and former member of Greybull Chamber of Commerce, she loved snowmobiling, motorcycle-riding, fishing, and collecting ceramic ducks.
Survivors include her son, Kwint Lawton of Sandy, Utah; daughter, Misti Groteweil, and her husband of Santee, Calif,; five brothers, Curtis Dye of Billings, Mont., Jim Shipley Jr. of Cody, Guy Shipley and his wife of Worland, Gary Shipley and his wife of Pocatello, and Paul Shipley of Great Falls, Mont.; two sisters, Ellen Conrad and her husband of Kingman, Ariz., and Linda Shipley of Worland; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Peggy Hall; and her grandparents.
Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, in care of Veile Mortuary, P.O. Box 349, Worland, WY 82401-0349.
