Obituary

BARNETT, James R. "Jim", 69, a Prattville resident, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2012. Funeral services were Wednesday October 31 at 2:00 PM at Ridout's Prattville Chapel. Burial followed in Prattville Memory Gardens with full Military Honors. Jim was born December 15, 1942 in Harrodsburg, Ky., to the late Homer and Nila Barnett. He faithfully served his country for twenty years in the U.S. Air Force obtaining the rank of Master Sergeant. His overseas duties included service in Thailand, Turkey and Greece. He loved the outdoors and spent many enjoyable days hunting and fishing with his family and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Pat, in 2011 and his son, Rod, in March of 2012. He is survived by his son, Greg Barnett; three grandchildren, Chris Barnett, Jamie Barnett, Lori Poole; one great grandson, Gregory Poole; a sister, Sara Ann Green; a brother, Harry Barnett; special family friends, Sylvia Tucker and Joan Fornwald; mother-in-law, Onita Sanders and a host other relatives and close friends. Visitation was held Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
