Irene Maxwell
M. Irene Maxwell, 83, a former Madiosn resident, died at Deaconness Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Wednesday, June 4.
She was born on Dec. 6, 1913, in Indianapolis, the duaghter of Louis and Alice Callahan Rotert. She was a retired staff member at Purdue University, a member of the Milton, Ky., United Methodist Church, Psi Iota Xi Sorority, and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are one son, Steven Conarroe of Cincinnati; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Elmer G. Maxwell, on Feb. 15, 1989.
Private family services were to be held today at Springdale Cemetery.
There was no visitation. Vail-Holt Funeral Home Madison Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
