Voice of Disney Cartoon Birds Ends Stay Here

Brownsville--Miss Marie Jeannerette, Hollywood movie whistler, took back to California a good case of Valley Sunburn when she left Brownsville by Southern Pacific Lines Tuesday night.

Miss Jeannerete, who is the "voice" of the birds in Walt Disney movies, was here for three weeks and three days visiting her aunt, Mrs. Abbye Koerner at the Travelers Motel.

The sunburn, Miss Jeannerete said, was acquired Sunday while swimming at Boca Chica, but it didn't change her feeling toward the Valley at all.

Despite being a Californian, she thinks the Valley swell, and the people, especially.

Aside from working in the Disney movies, Miss Jeannerette also imitates bird calls for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Paramount studios. She also appears on the radio.

The bird work is done at night, because movie tone effects are best at that time, she said. She is also legal secretary to Samuel S. Hinds, actor and attorney.
