Mary Johanna Witzke was

Bremen, Germany to Herman
and Ida Witzke. The family
came to America when Mary
was a young child and her
childhood days were spent at
Paxton, Illinois.
The remainder of her life
was lived in Newell, Iowa
where she attended school and
grew to womanhood. Here in
her home she passed away in
her sleep peacefully on Thursday
morning at the age of 71
years, 11 months and 24 days.
She was married to Warren
E. Kinney at Storm Lake, Iowa
on February 17, 1909, and to
this union three children were
born: Lenore, Norman and Kenneth.
Mr. and Mrs. Kinney celebrated
the fiftieth anniversary of
their marriage on February 15,
1959.
Mrs. Kinney was a faithful
member of the Newell Congregational
Church, and an active
member of its Senior Women's
Fellowship. She was always
happy and glad to participate
in the church and community's
activities. Her home came first
and she was happiest there
with her family about her and
serving them.
She loved her garden and
her flowers and took great
pride in them.
Surviving to mourn her departure
are her husband, Warren;
three children, Lenore of
Albert City, Norman of Ida
Grove, and Kenneth of Newell;
eight grand-children, two sisters

and Mrs Hulda Misch of
Ellsworth, Illinois.; and one
brother, William Witzke of
Newell. Many other relatives
and friends remain to mourn her passing.
