Mr. Jack Eugene Blanton, 70, of Connelly Springs, passed away on Friday, Dec. 28, 2007 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte following a period of declining health.


Jack was born on Dec. 1, 1937, in Cleveland County to the late Rev. Bill Blanton and Vangie Crotts Blanton. He was a retired supervisor with Hickory Chair Company and a member of St. John's Baptist Church in Connelly Springs.


In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Bob Blanton.


Survivors include his wife, Nancy Reed Blanton, two daughters, two brothers, three sisters, four grandsons, four great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.


Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, at St. John's Baptist Church with the Revs. Tim Greene and the Jerry Blanton officiating. Interment will follow in St. John's Baptist Church Cemetery.


Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese is serving the Blanton family.
