Edward Eugene Buford, age 91, of Lamar died Friday, November 9, 2012 at Barton County Memorial Hospital.

Edward was born November 2, 1921 at Independence, MO to William and Nellie Buford. He served his country in the United States Army from August 1942 to November 1945. On April 23, 1955 he married Jessie Combs at Lamar and together they raised their daughter, Norma.

As a member of the Local #518, Edward worked as a cement finisher in commercial buildings for many years. He enjoyed fishing and gardening and was known for the bird houses he built.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Jessie; his daughter, Norma and her husband, Jerry Davis of Lamar; and one grandson, Jerry E. Davis of Lamar.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, November 12, 2012 at Daniel Funeral Home with Rev. Robb Hodson officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Missouri National Guard Juliet Team.

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
