Benjamin Charles Rogers, "Beloved Pops", age 74, passed away unexpectedly on May 29, 2012 at Banner Churchill Community Hospital in Fallon. He was born Feb. 17, 1938 in Tonopah, Nev. to Benjamin Wesley and Mary Manzini Rogers. He grew up on a ranch in Smoley Valley, Nev.

He had been a Fallon resident since 1992, coming from Reno. Benjamin served four years in the U.S. Navy and went on to serve 29 years in the Air National Guard serving as a Maintenence Squadron Commander. He loved fishing, hunting and camping.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Joanne Britt.

Benjamin is survived by his wife, Edith Fay; daughter, Rochelle Martin; son, Bret Rogers; niece, Cheryl Whalen; nephew, Wesley Britt; grandchildren, Jennifer, Alexandria, Eric, Samantha and Jordyn.

Funeral services with military honors will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Smith Family Funeral Home in Fallon. Interment will follow in the Churchill County Cemetery.
