GAUTIER --- Mrs. Vernon Phenon Curry, 75, died Sunday, April 4, 1999, in Ocean Springs.

Mrs. Curry was a homemaker and was a member of County Line Baptist Church. She was a 1942 graduate of Whitfield High School in Jones County.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lamar Shows; a brother, Buck Shows; and a sister, Willie Mae Bunch.

Survivors include her husband, Rogelio Curry; a son, Roland Bruce Curry, both of Gautier; two daughters, Anna Sjostrom of Miami and Kathy Poweleit of Gautier; two sisters, Mrs. Pete Odom of Wiggins and Mrs. Jean Cooley of Gautier; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Richton, where friends may call after 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in County Line Cemetery in Jones County.

The family prefers memorials to the Make a Wish Foundation or St. Jude's Children Hospital in Memphis.
