Minnie May Smith, wife of County Treasurer Riley M. Smith, died Thursday noon, October 21, 1943, of a long illness at the age of 67 years.
Funeral services were held Monday at the home at 2 p. m. with further services in the Blain Reformed Church, Rev. Dean Feather, her pastor, officiating, assisted by her former pastors, Rev. Strasbaugh and Rev. Frank K. Bostian, and the Blain Lutheran minister, Rev. G. W. Foulke. Burial was made in the Blain cemetery. Pallbearers were Paul McKeehan, John McKeehan, Dorf Rohm, Ralph Wilt, Loy Bistline and William C. Koons.
Mrs. Smith was a life-long resident of this community and a member of the Blain Reformed Church. She was a member of the Willing Workers' Society and Women's Guild of the church and a member of the Order of Eastern Star of New Bloomfield. She was a teacher of the infant class of the Sunday School for twenty some years and for many years organist of the church choir. She was a christian woman and was a friend to all.
She is survived by her husband; a sister, Mrs. C. H. Wentzel, Blain, and a brother, Edward McKee, Red Lion.
