Born to James Leburn Miller and Matina F. "Mae" Pulis Miller, he married Oralee Cale on Sept. 10, 1978, in Blandinsville. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Teresa Miller Fleming and Linda Sue Collins; two sisters, Molly Ellen Bensinger and Louise Smith; four brothers, John L., Leonard U., Gary L. and Francis D.; and eight grandchildren.

Two sons, James B. and David E.; one brother; and one sister preceded him in death.

He lived in Carthage until moving to Blandinsville in 1971. He was a mechanic for Syfert Implement for 26 years, retiring in 1992.

A World War II Coast Guard veteran, he was a member of Hicks-Olsen American Legion Post 424 in Blandinsville and Blandinsville Odd Fellows Lodge. He also was a member of First Christian Church in Blandinsville.

Cremation has been accorded. Burial of ashes will be at later date in Elvaston Cemetery.
