Sylvester "Bud" Henry Reinert was born on February 26, 1925, in Bird Island, Renville County, Minnesota. He was the son of John and Frances (Redder) Reinert. Bud was baptized as an infant on March 8, 1925, and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth both at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bird Island. He received his education in Bird Island. Bud entered active military service in the United States Navy on March 15, 1945, and served his country during the World War II. He received an Honorable Discharge on August 1, 1946.

On September 9, 1947, Bud was united in marriage to Helen Agnes Krebsbach at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stewart, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with eight children, Paul, Kathy, Jack, Jim, Mark, Deb, Tim and Pete. Bud and Helen resided in Bird Island, Minnesota for a year, before moving to Hutchinson, Minnesota. Bud built several of the houses they lived in before moving to their current house where they had lived for the past 52 years. Bud and Helen shared 65 years of marriage.

In his younger years, Bud was employed at Stearnswood Inc. and at Goebel Fixture Company in Hutchinson. Later Bud was in a partnership with Harold Odegaard and built many houses in Hutchinson. Bud also owned and operated Reinert Construction and Hutch Wood Products in Hutchinson. He attended St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson where he was involved in the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of Gopher Campfire, Hutchinson American Legion Post #96, Military Order of the Cooties, Hutchinson VFW Post #906, where he was a past commander and McLeod County Chapter Pheasants Forever.

Bud enjoyed wood working, deer hunting, and gardening, especially flowers. He loved building things with his grandchildren. Bud was quick witted and had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed spending time at The Hutch Café in Hutchinson with his lifelong friends, the Kelly family. Bud especially cherished the time he spent with his family, grandchildren and friends.

Bud passed away Thursday, October 25, 2012, at his home in Hutchinson, Minnesota, at the age of 87 years.

Wife, Helen Reinert; Children, Paul Reinert, Kathy Andreen, Jack Reinert, Jim Reinert and his wife, Karen,
Mark Reinert and his wife, Sue, Deb Peterson and her husband, Jim, Tim Reinert and his wife, Brenda, Pete Reinert and his wife, Lori; 20 Grandchildren; 17 Great Grandchildren; Sister-In-Law, Katie Reinert; Nieces, Nephews and many other relatives and friends. Bud is preceded in death by his Parents, John and Frances Reinert; 6 Brothers; 5 Sisters.
