Harry Brinton Henderson, of Kittanning Pa., died on Sunday, November 18, 1928, following a short illness. He was born on August 17, 1869, at Elderton, Pa., to Brice Henderson, a prominent farmer of Elderton and former Commissioner of the county, and Martha Jane (Woodward) Henderson, who was a daughter of former Associate Judge Robert Woodward of Armstrong County, whose father, Absalom Woodward, was one of the pioneer settlers of the county.

Harry held several positions of employment during his life. At the early age of 16, he served two years as Principal of the Elderton Schools. He next was employed as a bookkeeper for J. B. Ford and Company, which became the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company at Ford City, Pa, for 2 years, from which he went to Kansas and for 2 years and served as Principal of the Public Schools at Lancaster, Kansas. Returning to Pennsylvania, he was appointed Deputy Prothonotary, on January 1st, 1900, and served in this office for 3 years under the late John M. Williams, who was Prothonotary at the time. While serving in this capacity, he was elected Register and Recorder of Armstrong County and was relected for three successive terms.

Following this employment, he was appointed by Governor Martin G. Brumbaugh, became a Referee of the State Workmen's Compensation Bureau at Pittsburgh, Pa. On December 17, 1924, he was appointed Postmaster at Kittanning, by President Coolidge for a term of four years, which position he held at the time of his death.

Mr Henderson was married on November 20, 1912 to Miss Sally Campbell Findley, a daughter of the late Abel C. Findley, a prominent business man of Kittanning, Pa. They had the following children: Harry Brinton Henderson Jr, Frank Barton Henderson, Martha Woodward Henderson, and Mary Elizabeth Henderson.
