Elmer E. Wright
Elmer E. Wright, 83, formerly of 121 Lafayette Road, Syracuse, died Wednesday at a local nursing home after a long illness.
A native of Syracuse, he retired in 1978 as a supervisor manager at Acme Markets after 39 years.
He was a member of the Solvay United Methodist Church and former chairman of its fund-raising organization.
Surviving are his wife, the former Dorothy Beehner; a son, Max Ernest of Honeoye; two daughters, Betty Margaret Walowsky of Auburn and Nancy Leake of Utica; two brothers, Casson Harold of Pennsylvania and Galen of Syracuse; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at John C. Tindall Funeral Home. Burial is in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt.
Calling hours are 3 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home, 1921 W. Genesee St.
