Body Of Moriah Vet Arriving Home Today

MORIAH - The body of Sgt. Wallace W. Hyatt of Moriah, who was killed in action in World War II, will arrive at Harlands Funeral Parlor, Port Henry, tonight and funeral services will be conducted at the Moriah Methodist Church at 2 p.m. tomorrow, the Rev. James R. Rhodes officiating.

Full military rites will be accorded by the Minesville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.

Sgt. Hyatt, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Owen Hyatt of Moriah, was inducted into the U. S. Army on June 21, 1941. He was sent overseas with the 87th Infantry Division in 1944 and was wounded in combat in Germany on February 15, 1945. He died the following day.

Besides his parents, he is survived by three brothers, Nelson and Kenneth, of Ticonderoga; and Earl, of Rome, N.Y.
