Alexander was the son of John and Margaret Fee Parke who brought the family to America from Ireland in about 1842.

He married Phoebe Lauder on June 17, 1844 in Mecca Township, Trumbull County, Ohio.

They had eleven children together: Lizzie, William, John, Susan, George, Margaret, Alexander, Phoebe, Clement, Albert and Nelson.

He worked as a farmer.

Died in Bazetta Twp.

Mr. Alexander Parke who passed from this life the morning on September 26, was born in County Leitrem, Ireland, June 6, 1826, being 78 years, 3 months and 20 days of age.

He left Ireland when about 16 years of age, for America on the man of war "Bernham," which sank on the return trip. He was seven weeks on the trip across the waters. He landed at Ashtabula and came over land in a wagon over corduroy roads to this county where he since resided.

He was married to Miss Phoebe Lauder, in Mecca, in 1844. to them were born eleven children, 6 boys and 2 girls, living, 1 boy and 3 girls dead. The children are as follows: Mrs. Lizzie Mackey of Kansas; Wm. L., John, Susan Wert, deceased; Phoebe Blair, of New Brighton, Pa.; Clem, Indian River, Mich.; George, Albert, Nelson, and Maggie, and Alex, deceased.

Mr. Parke resided for over 22 years on the place where he died. He was the last of 13 children, 4 of whom were buried in Ireland and one in the West Indies, the rest in different parts of America.

The funeral was held Wednesday at 11 a.m., at the house, in charge of Undertaker Bradford and conducted by Rev. L.H. Bush, of Warren. D.D. Marvin, Miss Bessie Marvin and Messrs. Ezra and Lee Marvin sang. Four of the sons namely, Wm., John, George, and Albert, acted as pallbearers. It was impossible for Clem Parke, of Michigan, and Mrs. Mackey, of Kansas, to be at the funeral on account of sickness in their families. Internment was at Hillside Cemetery.

Mr. Parke left 27 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
