North Myrtle Beach......Mildred M. Lewis, age 85, widow of the late John Arnet Lewis, died Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at Covenant Towers Retirement Home. Mrs. Lewis was born in Farmville, NC, a daughter of the late William E. Moye and Mary Bailey Moye. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Myrtle Beach. Mrs. Lewis retired from Waccamaw High School in Brunswick County, NC with 23 years of service. She and her husband were former owner and operators of By The Sea Motel at Crescent Beach. Mrs. Lewis was predeceased by five brothers and two sisters. Surviving are two sisters, Virginia Shanaman of Culpepper, VA and Mary Hudson of Knightdale, NC; two brothers, William Moye and Roland Moye of Farmville, NC; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday at the First Baptist Church of North Myrtle Beach with Dr. John Gambrell officiating. Burial will follow in Southeastern Memorial Gardens directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Saturday at the First Baptist Church of North Myrtle Beach. Memorials may be sent to the First Baptist Church of North Myrtle Beach, 200 Hwy 17. S., N. Myrtle Beach, SC 29582. Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel is serving the family.
