A funeral Mass for Randall Scott Ferguson, 44, of Fieldale, who died Jan. 30, 2009, at home, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Joseph T. Torretto officiating.

The families of Ferguson and his aunt, Brenda Ferguson Merriam, who died Monday, Feb. 2, will receive friends in the South Chapel of Bassett Funeral Service from 7 to 9 p.m. today and at other times at the home of Bruce Ferguson, 580 Sedgefield Drive, Martinsville.

Ferguson and Merriam will be buried at Mount Hermon Church of the Brethren cemetery after her 2 p.m. funeral Wednesday.

Ferguson was born in New York on Nov. 15, 1964, to James Calvin Ferguson of Patrick County and Kathleen St. Clair Ferguson.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Buford Ferguson, Arlene Ferguson, James Matthew St. Clair and Mary St. Clair.

He was of the Catholic faith.

Surviving, in addition to his father, are a daughter, Katie Ferguson of South Carolina; three brothers, Daniel Brice Ferguson of Atlanta, Ga., Matthew Brett Ferguson and James Calvin Ferguson II, both of South Carolina; his stepmother, Alice Shough Ferguson of Patrick County; and several aunts and uncle
