George is listed in the Second Edition, 1916 of "Who's Who in New England."
He graduated from Boston Latin School in 1900; received his A.B. from Harvard in 1903 graduating magna cum laude; his Ph.D. in 1905 [doctor of philosophy]; and graduated with his S.T.B. from the Episcopal Theology School, Cambridge, in 1907 [doctor of divinity, Cambridge Theological School]. He was curate at the Church of the Ascension, Fall River, Mass. from 1907 to 1909; rector at Trinity Church, Milford, 1909-11, then rector at St. Luke's Church, Chelsea, beginning Oct. 1, 1911. He was the author of several articles in theology magazines on "The Philosophy of Religion"; lecturer at Harvard in fall of 1913 on "The Validity of the Religious Experience." He was described as having written a number of articles for which he was liberally quoted.
George married Helen Raymond Choate in Chelsea, MA in 1921. The couple had their first son in MA, but had moved to CT by the mid-20's where their remaining three sons were born. George was rector at a church in Connecticut until moving back to Massachusetts in the 1940's.
He was a member of the Appalachian Mountain Club.
