"Uncle" Green Ellis Dies at Home of Daughter at Man
LOGAN, Jan. 26.-Funeral services for "Uncle" Green Ellis, an active participant in Logan county's historic Hatfield-McCoy feud, were held at the Christian church Sunday afternoon, under charge of Rev. J. Green McNeely, a life-long friend. "Uncle" Green died at the home of his only daughter, Mrs. Elsie Herald at Man, Friday. Mr. Ellis, who was widely know, was a son of the late Anderson Ellis. He is survived by a twin brother, John Ellis, of Pigeon creek, and two nephews, John A. and J. E. Ellis. (The Charleston Daily Mail, Tues., Jan. 26, 1932)
