3, 1979 in Middletown, Rhode
Island at the age of 42 years.
Audrey was baptized and confirmed
in the Nain Lutheran Church at
Newell, where she was a very active
member in her youth, including
DUK (Youth Group), teaching
Sunday School, and as a church
organist.
Following her graduation from
the Newell High School, she served
as the first bookkeeper at the
Newell Cooperative Elevator.
On August 3, 1956 Audrey and
Delbert DeForest, a high school
classmate, were married at Nain
Lutheran Church. One son. Wade
Matthew, was born to them on
February 1, 1960.
Their married life included residencies
in Germany, England,
Indiana, California, Texas- and
Rhode Island. She held various
secretarial jobs and was also a
church organist in California.
During the time they lived in
England, she gained her love and
appreciation for antiques and fine
arts. This led to her hobby of
collecting antiques and limited
edition plates.
She also loved music, flowers,
plants, and nature in general. In all
her travels, she was an outgoing
person end made many friends
wherever she went.
