An indomitable woman of Irish descent, she was born in Pennington County, Minn., to Martin and Ellen Byrne. She married Roy De Witt and mothered Carol, Judy, Patrick, Jeff and Scott. She was Mom to any kid that came around and was loved by many more than her own. She gave of herself, her time and her efforts. She will be sorely missed.

If ever in your lifetime you had the chance to know this daughter of the Emerald Isle, your cup is truly full.

A warm and healing hand she had, a shoulder to soak up tears. If ever you felt you needed her, her answer was ... "I'm here."

For a bright and shining moment, we had her in our midst, but the other side wanted her back. It must have given them fits.

With all the love we feel for you, we grudgingly say goodbye, follow that double rainbow, take your wings and fly.

I bet when death came for you, he came with hat in hand, and asked you where you wanted to go, Heaven or Ireland?
