Barbara Ann David, 54, of Houston and formerly of Hearne, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2012 in Houston. Born February 18, 1958, the proud baby girl of Johnnie Mae Dunn, Barbara grew up in Hearne and graduated from Hearne High School. She went on to pursue a career in cosmetology and later FedEx.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her four brothers; Kevin Cole and wife Sara, Jeffery Dunn, J.R. Washington and Twu Walter Williams, two sisters; Donna David and husband Gregory and LaSherri Dunn, her Great Uncle Dorsey Gardner, her three nephews Kristopher David, Jumond Burrel and Bernard Willis, her four nieces Alexis Cole, Jessica Gomez, Lazhyri Joiner, Danae Cole and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by her mother Johnnie Mae Dunn, niece Kimberly David, Grandparents Annie Mae Staten and Penn Robinson, Uncle Charlie Staten and Aunts Bobbie Broussad and Betty Williams. Also her very special babies (pets) Freeway and Jill. They were her children.
Public Viewing was held November 1 at 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with wake service from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Both where held at Skipper Lee and Sons Funeral Home 4610 South Wayside, Houston, TX.
Visitation was held 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Glenn Mack Funeral Home.
Funeral Services were held Saturday November 3 at 1:00 p.m. at New Elam Missionary Baptist Church; Rev. Derron Robinson, Pastor.
Eulogy given by Rev. Donald Frank Adams, pastor of North New Hope Baptist Church in Franklin, TX.
Internment at Greater Riverside Cemetery in Hearne, TX
