John George Kaiser entered life on the 20th day of January, 1833 in Springfield Township, Columbianna County, Ohio, and was made an heir of life eternal through the sacrament of holy baptism. After he had grown up, he moved to Richland County where he resided for a number of years. On the 11th of February, 1862, he married Elizabeth Karoline Kalb in Chatfield, Crawford County, Ohio, and very soon after this, they followed the other relatives into the wilderness of Williams County.
Eight children were born to them in the course of years, four sons and four daughters, of which two children, Elizabeth and Isaak Frederick preceded the father to the spirit land. Isaak at the age of three years, and Elizabeth at the age of twenty-four years, who at the time of her death was the wife of Frederick Mayer.
Mr. Kaiser, as one of our old pioneers, has seen hard days of toil and labor of which our young generations has very little idea. But the good Lord always gave him the things necessary for the sustenance of life, and he could not say that the Lord had forsaken him.
In the year 1885, the 26th of April, his faithful wife was taken from his side, with whom he had lived in great harmony and love. In the year 1890 he moved to town and shortly after bought an elevator, which business venture proved a failure. the experiences through which he went in those years were enough to make his faith in his honesty of man waver, and the heavy blows of misfortune left their lasting marks upon him throughout the remainder of his life. Ten years ago he withdrew from this business and tried in various ways to make an honest living.
In the last few years, Mrs. Kaiser was more of less of an invalid, and so was very little seen in company. Some weeks ago he had a slight apoplectic stroke which almost made him speechless. With his other aliments, he could not long resist, and so on Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock, he was taken out of his vale of tears, and we hope, for all his sufferings, which he endured so patiently, he has found full recompense.
His children and neighbors certainly did everything to lighten his cross and God will surely reward them for their services. Those surviving him besides his six children are two sisters, Mrs. Noldt and Miss Mary Kaiser and 22 grandchildren. He was permitted to stay in this world for 74 years and 8 months.

And if our souls are hurried hence
May they be found with God.
We wish to publicly express our appreciation for the kind favors shown us by our friends and neighbors during the sickness and death of our father, also to thank the choir and those who gave flowers for the casket.
