Golda was born July 5, 1930, in Ray, North Dakota, the daughter of Myrel Ray Henning and Margaret Dolly (Hastings) Henning.
On October 15, 1950, Golda united in marriage to Richard Alton Salveson in Ray, North Dakota. After moving to numerous cities and towns within North Dakota and Montana, they made their home in Williston, North Dakota, where they raised six children. Golda's life and love revolved around her family.
Golda was an avid reader and loved craftwork, and was especially fond of crocheting, knitting, quilting and sewing. Golda and a group of her many friends formed their own hobby club to share their love of crafting. Golda also enjoyed gardening, canning, and baking.
Golda was a charter member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Williston, ND, was a member of a Gloria Dei Circle, and served on the funeral committee for many years.
Other organizations she belonged to were a homemaker's club and the Williams County Genealogical Society wherein she served to gather statistical information from rural cemeteries within Williams County.

She is survived by four daughters: Elizabeth (Robert) Roetter of Verona, PA; Kathryn (Richard) Ike of Polson, MT; Janis (Timothy) Larson of Scottsdale, AZ; and Carla Timmreck of Maple Grove, MN; two sons: Bruce (Laura) Salveson of Bismarck, ND and Brian (Karla) Salveson of Williston, ND; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Gida (Kenneth) Anderson of Williston, ND; Dolly (Donald) Hickel of Ray, ND; and Carol Kohl of Cambridge, VT; two brothers: Myrel Myrdeth (Trudy) Henning of Primeville, OR; and Lawrence Myron (Belinda) Henning of Mobile, AL.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband.
