BURLINGTON - Claire deHart Lewis, 86, of Burlington, and formerly of Radnor, Pa., passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2012, in Twin Lakes Memory Care Center.

She was born in Bryn Mawr, Pa., in 1926 and resided in Radnor until moving to Burlington in 1967. She was a graduate of UNC Greensboro. On Feb. 19, 1949, she married Russell Cruse Lewis in Bryn Mawr, Pa. She was an active member in the Church of the Holy Comforter where she served on the Altar Guild for 25 years, and remained actively involved with the community until moving to Twin Lakes in 2009.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, R. Cruse Lewis; three daughters, Catherine Bennett and her husband, Garland, of Atlanta, Ga., Pamela White and her husband, Frank, of Winston-Salem, and Susan Meagher and her husband, Michael, of Gainesville, Ga.; and three grandsons. She will be best remembered by her family as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff, nurses and caregivers at Twin Lakes Memory Care for their unbelievably marvelous professional care and kindness during her illness.
