Pawnee Rock, Mar. 1 - Andrew Daniels, aged 93 years, one of the oldest men in this section, is dead here. He was born in Franklin Mills, Pa., Jan 25, 1829. He was past thirty years of age at the time of the civil war, through which he served in a Pennsylvania regiment. He came to Barton county, locating at Pawnee Rock in 1889.

Andrew Daniels was the third of five children of John Daniels (1800-1886) and his wife Elizabeth (Mann) Daniels (1801-1863) of Bedford/Fulton Counties, Pennsylvania.
Andrew married Sarah Ann Blankley in the City of Bedford, Bedford County, Pennsylvania in 1850. The marriage produced seven children. The family moved west to Kansas in the 1890's.
This contributor is a direct descendant of Andrew's paternal aunt Elizabeth (Daniels) Welch.
