Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of Austin Christian Church.
Born Dec. 31, 1913, in Clark County, she was a daughter of Walter and Daisy Dean Wise, who preceded her in death. She married Walter Nicholson and preceded her in death. She later married Layton Smith, and he survives.
She is survived by a daughter of Seymour; eight grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
She is also preceded in death by four sons, Harold, Lawrence, Charles and Jerry; an infant, Betty Louise; several brothers and sisters.
The Rev. Don Allen conducted funeral services Sunday at Buchanan Funeral Home, Austin. Burial was at New Bethel Cemetery, Chelsea.
