Bernice Mary Reiter, the daughter of Art and Anna (Bangasser) Lynch, was born on January 6, 1915 in Ackley, IA. She grew up on a farm south of Tracy, MN and attended country school. Bernice was united in marriage to Perne Silvernale on June 18, 1931 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tracy, MN. After their marriage they spent most of their married lives in Currie, MN. They opened the Ma-Pa Loma Café in 1948 and the bowling alley in 1958. Perne passed away in November of 1964. She worked at the Currie Post office for over 20 years. Bernice married George Reiter on October 12, 1973. They made their home in Currie. George passed away in June of 2006. Bernice entered the Prairie View Health Care Center in Tracy in January of 2011 and passed away there on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the age of 97. She was a member of IHM Catholic Church in Currie and belonged to the Catholic Daughters and the church group. She enjoyed bowling, cooking, gardening, dancing and baking. Bernice will always be remembered as everyone's "Grama B".

Survivors include her daughter, Aljean (Bob) Ackerman of Mankato, MN; daughter-in-law Jeanette Silvernale of Currie, MN; step daughter, Dorothy (Wayne) Jensen of Currie, MN; 24 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands, 3 sons, Sherwood, James and Perne III "Tack" Silvernale, daughter, Colette Peschges-Schmidt and 2 grandchildren.

Funeral Services
IHM Catholic Church Currie, MN at 10:30 AM on Saturday, October 27, 2012 with the Fr. Andrew Vogel celebrating. The organist is Patty LeClaire. The song leader is Kathy Jo Johns. The honorary pallbearers are her 24 grandchildren. Interment at Calvary Cemetery Currie, MN.
