Howard F Bell, 87, of 4362 Bell Road, Cochranton, Died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, at Meadville Medical Center.
Born Sept. 15, 1916, in Wayne Township, he was the son of Ellis and Savilla Hollabaugh Bell.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater.
He was an electrician at the American Viscose for forty years retiring in 1981.
He was known as the area handyman following his retire-ment.
He was a member of the Decards United Methodist Church, where he served as the church trutee for many years and held serveral other offices in the church.
He was married Dec. 24, 1936, to the former Ruth Yarnell, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Ellen Govertsen, and husbaqnd, Walt, of Wheaton, Ill., and Virginia Smith, and husband Richard, of Meadville, Ila Wright of Cochranton, and Kathryn McCall and Doris Bouchard, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; Two brothers, Philip Bell of Utica, and Lester Bell of Cooperstown; Three grandsons, Don DuPont Jr., and Grant and Kurt Govertsen; a granddaughter, Vicki Myers; a great-granddaughter, Stephanie Mitchell; and serveral step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gladys Baker, and three brothers, Paul, Wayne, and Russell Bell.
Freinds may call fromo 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and the Dickson Family Funeral Hoome INc., 123 Franklin St. Cochranton.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p. m. Thursday at the Deckards United Methodist Church, 28388 Deckard Road, Cochranton 16314
