He was born July 12, 1923, in Union City, Pa., to Earl E. and Lillian V. (Bartholme) Higgins. On Feb. 27, 1946, he married Evelyn Johnstone in Erie, Pa.
Mr. Higgins was a graduate of Academy High School in Erie and a member of St. John of the Cross Episcopal Church, Bristol. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and had worked at Domore Chair Co. for 39 years, retiring as a service manager in 1986.
There will be no visitation. Cremation will take place, with burial in Rice Cemetery. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home, 403 W. Franklin St., Elkhart.
Memorials may be given to the Red Cross or Salvation Army.
