Those Who Have Answered the Final Summons
Gus Addams, the well-known auctioneer, died at his home in Cedarville Friday night at 7:20 of heart trouble. He had been ailing in that respect for several years, but for the past three weeks he was troubled more than usual and his ailment finally resulted in his death.
Mr. Addams was the son of the late James Addams, one of the early pioneers of this county. The subject of this sketch was born at Cedarville 42 years ago and has always resided in that vicinity. For a number of years he operated a farm in the vicinity of Cedarville and also followed the occupation of an auctioneer. He was one of the best known auctioneers in this section as was always in great demand to cry sale in this and adjoining counties. He numbered many friends in all parts of the county, as he was a genial, whole-souled gentleman whom everybody liked. His wife died about two years ago and he has a family of two children and also two brothers and two sisters, Sam Addams, of Red Oak, and Austin, Agnes and Lizzie Addams, who reside at Rockford.
