Frederic William Schellpeper was born October 15, 1845 at Thurnow, Province of Brandenburg, Germany. to Ferdinand and Freda (Schuch) Schellpeper. He emigrated to America in the spring of the year 1870. After being in Cuming County and working for two years, he took up a homestead in Stanton county on which he has lived ever since until he moved to Stanton in 1912.
He was united in marriage to Miss Ida Manthei on October 23, 1874. To this union were born 8 children, 7 sons and one daughter, four of whom, Edward, Arthur, Paul and Gustave, have at an early age preceded the father in death. His wife died in 1904. He was married for the second time, this being in 1909 to Mrs. Marie Neusch of Welcome, Minn.
