On August 25,1942, at 9:55p.m., George W. Senft, retired farmer, died at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John R. Senft, here, after an illness of almost a year of complication of diseases. He was 93 years, 1 month, and 16 days old.
Surviving are six children: Mrs. Henry Gladfelter, North York; Harvey Senft, Stoverstown; George Senft, North York; Mrs. Harvey Gladfelter, Stoverstown; Mrs. J. E. Shetter, West York; and John R. Senft, with whom he lived; a brother, John Senft, East Berlin, RD 2; a sister, Mrs. Rudy Gladfelter, North York; 25 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Friday morning, with brief services at 10 o'clock, at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John R. Senft, here, and concluding services at St. Paul's Union Church, here, of which the deceased was an active member of the Lutheran congregation. The Rev. Richard S. Shannabrook, Lutheran pastor, and the Rev. Franklin Glassmoyer, Reformed pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Funeral Director, C. O. Goodling, Seven Valleys, is in charge of arrangements. Relatives and friends may call at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, on Thursday evening, from 6:30 to 9 o'clock.
