Simon K. Arnold, 68, died today in Baker VA Center, Martinsburg, W. Va., where he had been a patient two weeks. He had been in failing health several years. Born in Barton, he was a son of the late Domenick Arnold and Ellen (Michael) Arnold. He was a veteran of World War I and held membership in Barton Post 189, American Legion. He also was a member of St. Gabriel's Catholic Church. Mr. Arnold was a retired butcher and at one time was the champion clay pigeon shooter of Allegany County. Surviving are two brothers, Jesse Arnold, Barton and Harmon Arnold, Cumberland; a sister, Miss Nellie Arnold, Cumberland, and several nieces and nephews. The body is at the Boal Funeral Home. The family requests flowers be omitted.
