"The Herald" Piedmont, West Virginia, Fri 12 Nov 1915: "Mr. Dominick Arnold, aged 76 years, a veteran of the Civil war on the Union side, died shortly after 9 o'clock Saturday morning at his home in Barton. His health had been failing for some time. He was known as an extremely patriotic man, displaying the flag at his home on every public occasion and holiday. Mr. Arnold is survived by eight children, five sons and three daughters. The sons are Dominick, Jesse, Harmon and Simon, of Barton, and Frank, living in Ohio. The daughters are Misses Mary and Mamie, at home, and Mrs. Thomas McGreevy, of Westernport. The funeral was held from St. Gabriel's church, Barton."
