Funeral service for Mrs. Dorothy Dianne Bishop, 83, of Auburn and formerly of Alexander City, will be Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church.

Dr. Skip Lowery will officiate. Burial will follow in the Alexander City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 10, 2012 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at First Baptist Church of Alexander City,

Mrs. Bishop passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Bethany House. She was born on December 23, 1928 in Davenport, Iowa to James William Mann Dean and Lucille Curtis Dean.

She was a member of First Baptist Church where she was active in the WMU and GA program. She received her B.S. in Horticulture from Auburn University and her Master's in Education from Auburn University at Montgomery. She was a floral designer at Bishop Floral Company and later an Elementary Teacher in Kellyton, Millerville, Dadeville, and Goodwater. She also worked in the cutting room at Russell Corp's New Number One Mill. Mrs. Bishop enjoyed watching old movie musicals and new movies starring Tom Hanks.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ralph Wilson Bishop of Auburn; daughters, Dianne Carlton Bishop Knight (Gerald), of Auburn and Lucille (Lucie) Curtis Bishop Reeves (Berry), of Hampton Cove, AL; son, R. Wilson (Will) Bishop (Gwendolyn), of New Market, AL; grandchildren, Christina Moorman, Audrey Easterwood, Cheryl Knight, Jennifer Reeves, D.D. Knight, Brooke Bishop, Eric Bishop, and Elizabeth Bishop; great-grandchildren, Hugh Easterwood and Hollon Easterwood.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Benjamin Terrell Bishop; and sister, Martha Lucille Dean Walker.
