Oneonta—Byron Fuller, 60,prominent Otsego County banker, died yesterday at Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta, where he had been a patient for the last three weeks. He was chairman of the Advisory Board of the National Commercial Bank & Trust Co. of Hartwick. Mr. Fuller, who also was an insurance agent and active churchman, had been associated with the former Hartwick National Bank for more than four decades. He served as teller, vice-president and for a number of years before the merger with National Bank & Trust Co. of Albany, he was president of Hartwick National Bank. In the insurance field, Mr. Fuller represented the Otsego Mutual and Hartford Insurance companies. He was a member of Hartwick Methodist Church, a teacher of the Roberts Memorial Bible Class, and assistant superintendent of the Sunday School. Mr. Fuller also was a member and chaplain of Hartwick Lodge, IOOF; member and chaplain of Hinman Hollow Grange, member of Otsego County Pomona Grange, trustee of Hartwick Free Library, and treasurer of Hartwick Cemetery Association. He was born Dec. 29, 1898 in the Town of Hartwick, the son of Fred C. and Flora A. (Manley) Fuller. He married Bernice Spafard of Hartwick on June 14, 1924. Surviving, besides his wife, at home in Hartwick, are a daughter, Mrs Donald Hughes, Franklin, and six grandchildren, Gary, Alan, Yvonne, Jack, Colleen and Karen Hughes, all of Franklin. Others include four sisters, Miss Mildred Fuller, Bainbridge; Mrs. Richard Ellis, Bainbridge; Mrs. Kenneth French, Vestal; Mrs. Joseph Field, Hartwick, and several nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p. m. Thursday at Hartwick Methodist Church by the Rev. Paul Gere, pastor. Burial will be in Hartwick Cemetery. Friends may call at the Patterson Funeral Home in Hartwick after 4 p. m. tomorrow.
