BROGUIERE - BOYER - Louis Broguiere, age 30, native of France, and Louise Boyer, age 21, native of France, both residents of Los Angeles.

Louis and Louise Broguiere had two children:
1. Louis J. Broguiere, b. Oct. 16, 1910 in CA. and d. Jun. 22, 1981 in Los Angeles county, CA.
2. Adele Alexandrine Broguiere, b. Aug. 12, 1914 in CA. and d. Apr. 3, 2003. Adele marr. Waldron E. Eldridge on Dec. 31, 1952 in Los Angeles county, CA.

Louis Marie Broguiere’s Jan. 12, 1911 Petition for Naturalization contained the following information:
His full name was Louis Marie Broguiere and his residence was: 849 Birch St. in the city of Los Angeles, L.A., CA. His occupation was: merchant. He was born on Dec. 1st, 1875 at La Motte Saint Bonnet. He emigrated to the U. S. from Le Havre, France on or about Jul. 12, 1896, arriving at the port of New York on the vessel La Gascogne.
He declared his intention to become a citizen on Apr. 15, 1908 at Los Angeles, CA. in the Supreme Court of California in and for the County of Los Angeles.His wife’s name was: Louise Broguiere. She was born at Benevant Saint Bonnet, France, and was now residing in Los Angeles.
He had one child: Louis Broguiere, born Oct. 16, 1910 at Los Angeles, CA.
He had resided continuously in the United States since Jul. 20, 1896 and in the state of California since Jul. 26, 1896.
The affidavit was witnessed by L. N. Edwards, a police officer, residing at 1378 E. 15th St. in L.A. and A. J. Davoust, a publisher residing at 2529 Brooklyn Ave.

According to his Sep. 12, 1918 WWI Draft Registration card, 42 yr. old Louis Broguiere, b. Dec. 1, 1875, was living at 1214 1/2 Birch St. in Los Angeles. He was selling groceries at 852 1/2 Central Av. in Los Angeles. His employer was listed as Broguiere-Blanchard.
His nearest relative was his wife, Louisa Broguiere.
Louis was described as medium in height and build, with blue eyes, gray hair and nothing that would physically disqualify him from serving in the military.

According to Louis M. Broguiere's Apr. 21, 1924 application for a U.S. passport, in the County of Los Angeles and State of California, Louis was now a naturalized citizen. He was applying for a passport for himself, his 37 yr. old wife, Louise, born in France; 9 yr. old son, Louis, born in California; and 7 yr. old daughter, Adele, born in California.
Louis and Louise were married on Aug. 18, 1908.
Louis was born in France on Dec. 1, 1875. His father, also named Louis Broguiere, was born in France and was then residing at Saint Bonnet, France. Louis Broguiere emigrated to the United States, sailing from Le Havre, France in about 1896 and he had resided uninterruptedly at Los Angeles for 28 years.
He was naturalized as a United States citizen before the Superior Court of Los Angeles, CA. on May 1, 1911. He had never had a passport previously. He intended to go abroad temporarily to France for an indefinite period of time to visit family and for business. He intended to leave the U. S. via the port of NY. on Jun. 4, 1924.
48 yr. old Louis Broguiere was described as 5'10" tall, with a high forehead, brown eyes and a medium straight nose, moustached mouth, oval chin, brown hair, dark complexion and an oval face.

In the 1920 U. S. census, 44 yr. old Louis Broguire (Broguiere), the owner of a retail grocery store, b. in France, was living in a home he owned free and clear at 1214 1/2 Birch St. in Los Angeles Assembly District 74, Los Angeles, CA. with his

9 yr. old son, Louie Broguir, b. in CA.
5 yr. old daughter, Adell Broguire, b. in CA.
Louis and Louise immigrated to the U. S. in 1896 and became naturalized citizens in 1911.
Louis and Louise's parents were all born in France.

In the 1930 U. S. census, 55 yr. old Louis 'Broguire' (Broguiere), a paper distributor, b. in France, was living in a home he owned, valued at $3500, at 1213 1/2 Birch St. in Los Angeles, Los Angeles, CA. with his

19 yr. old daughter' (son) Louisa (Louis) Broguire, occupation unreadable, b. in CA.
15 yr. old daughter, Adele Broguire, b. in CA.

Louis was 32 yrs. old and Louise was 20 at the time of their marriage.
Louis and Louise's parents were all born in France.
French was Louis and Louise's native language.
Louis emigrated to the U. S. in 1896 and Louise, in 1907. They were now both naturalized citizens.

The Social Security Applications and Claims Index, 1936-2007, lists Louis Broguiere's spouse as Louise Boyer and their daughter as: Adele Alexandrine Broguiere.

According to the California Marriage Index, 1949-1959, 38 yr. old Adele A. Broguiere and 60 yr. old Waldron E. Eldridge, were married in Los Angeles, CA. on Dec. 31, 1952.
