Harold served as a navigator in the RCAF in the Second World War and was awarded the distinguished flying cross for his extraordinary service. After the war he started a career in the life insurance industry and soon became one of
Canada's most well known speakers on the subject. He spoke on numerous
occasions to the industry's leaders at the Million Dollar Round Table conventions. His speaking engagements took him to Europe, Australia and the United States. The Chartered Life Underwriters Association honored his 50 years in the business at a gala dinner in 1995. He was instrumental in the
creation of the Granville School for emotionally challenged youth, founder
of The Physical Medicine Research Foundation and a lifelong supporter of the
United Jewish Appeal.
