Edward McKinley Haas was born near Emery, South Dakota, to Charles August and Katherine "Katie" (Bender) Haas, both of Russian-German descent, immigrating to the U.S. in the mid 1890s.

Ed married (1)Verna (?) between 1930-1935, they had two sons, and divorced before 1935.

Ed married (2)Laura Margaret Bricker about 1950. Laura was born 5 February 1925 in Anderson, IN, and died 24 January 1960 in Columbia, MO. They had two children, a boy and a girl.

Ed married (3)Edith Irene Clark 12 Jun 1968 in Limon, CO. Edith was born 8 August 1912 in Farmington, IL, and died 21 March 2000 in Longmont, CO.

Deceased Name: Ed M. Haas -- Retired hotel operator, 86
Ed M. Haas of Boulder, a retired pastry chef and hotel operator, died March 7 at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins after a long illness. He was 86.
Services were March 10 at Crown Hill Mortuary Chapel. Interment was in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Haas was born Jan. 29, 1908, in Emery, S.D. He resided in Craig for many years and was a pastry chef at the Cosgriff Hotel. In 1968, he moved to Denver and bought the Homestead Hotel on West Colfax Avenue. He retired in 1973 and moved to Boulder.
He enjoyed traveling and fishing. Haas was a member of the Jim Beam Bottle Club.
He is survived by his wife, Edith.
