Ed M. Haas of Boulder, a retired pastry chef and hotel operator, died March 7 at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins after a long illness. He was 86.
Services were March 10 at Crown Hill Mortuary Chapel. Interment was in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Haas was born Jan. 29, 1908, in Emery, S.D. He resided in Craig for many years and was a pastry chef at the Cosgriff Hotel. In 1968, he moved to Denver and bought the Homestead Hotel on West Colfax Avenue. He retired in 1973 and moved to Boulder.
He enjoyed traveling and fishing. Haas was a member of the Jim Beam Bottle Club.
He is survived by his wife, Edith.
