Jim grew up on North Hill which was a place always close to his heart. He was a Deputy Sheriff, retired from the Summit County Sheriff's Department and was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #139. In his later years, he enjoyed photography and taking day trips with his wife Barbara looking for the next great shot. He enjoyed daily walks with his faithful companion, Louie, a 5 year old Bichon Frise. The family would like to thank Dr. Eric Espinol for all his extra efforts in the hopes of a different outcome. Additionally, they would like to recognize all the staff in the ICU at Summa Western Reserve for their devotion and compassion. Thanks to all the doctors who gave him care, in particular, Dr. Sean Wilson who was always punctual! A special thanks to Jim's great-niece Missy who was instrumental in providing comfort to Jim and his family. Jim is survived by his wife of 44 years, Barbara; his son, James and his fiance Lisa of Southern California; and a sister, Ruth Murphy of Cuyahoga Falls. Please join us to celebrate his life on Sunday, September 18th, 2011 at Lions Hall, 245 Northeast Avenue, Tallmadge, from 1 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a donation to a charity of your choice.
