Maxwell Arnold Bogue (1896-1964), 68, of East Palatka, died early today after an illness of several months. Mr. Bogue has been a resident of Palatka since 1919 and was the retired president of Palatka Savings and Loan Company where he went to work in 1928. He was voted president in 1939 and retired in January 1946 because of ill health.
Mr. Bogue was past president of the Palatka Kiwanis Club, past master of Palatka Lodge 34, F&AM, and a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his widow, Berniece Buck; two children, John H. Bogue, Gainesville, and Mrs. Paul Snedegar, Elkins, W.Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Cecile Tilghman, Miami, and Mrs. Dorothy Blair, Ray, Ariz.; two brothers, Gerald D. Bogue, Palatka, and William Carlton Bogue, Phoenix, Ariz.; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. in the First Baptist Church with Rev. John Pelham officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill East Cemetery. Directors of Palatka Savings and Loan will act as honorary pallbearers. Johnson-Davis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dtd Friday, 20 Nov 1964.)
