Howard Lee Dean Sr. 61 of Scenery Hill R.D.3 Somerset Township, died unexpectedly Sunday, July 15, 1984, in his home.
He was born June 7, 1923, in Mannington, W.Va. a son of John Howard and Nettie Gay Barker dean. He was a protestant.
Mr. Dean was employed as a locomotive engineer in the cleaning plant of Bethlehem Mine Corp., Ellsworth Division, and was a member of UMWA Local 1197, Cokesburg.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served with the 1060 Army Air Force Base Unit.
Mr. Dean was a member of American Legion Post 165, VFW Post 5454, Polish Club and Fraternal Order of Eagles 1809, all of Bentleyville.
He was a lifelong resident of the Ellsworth and Scenery Hill areas.
On August 16, 1942, he married Virginia May Alger.
