Obituary for Ret. Col. Louise Augusta Ferraro
Retired Lt. Colonel Louise Augusta Ferraro, USAR, 85, 402 Cherokee Drive, Bluff City, Tennessee died Thursday, March 3, 2005 at Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness. A native of Brooklyn, New York, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Elsie Meinhart Ferraro. She was of the Catholic faith, and a U.S. Army veteran serving for 28 years as a R.N. during both WW II and the Korean Conflict. Ms. Ferraro was on active duty during WWII and was in the European Theater from 1944 - 1946. She had various U.S. assignments and served in a MASH unit in Korea. She retired at William Beaumont Hospital at Ft. Bliss, El Paso, Texas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen R. Ferraro. Survivors include two nephews and wives, Robert & Treva Ferraro, Bluff City, Tennessee and Stephen & Karen Ferraro, Farmington, Connecticut; two nieces and husbands, Eileen & Andy Gimma, Farmington, Connecticut and Anne & Paul Pardis, Baltimore, Maryland; one sister-in-law, Eileen Ferraro, Avon, Connecticut; one great niece, Jennifer Ferraro, Blountville, Tennessee; three great nephews, Alfred Ferraro, Chris Ferraro and Robert Ferraro, all of Bluff City, Tennessee; and one great great niece, Elora Ann Ferraro, of Bluff City, Tennessee.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Monday, March 7, 2005 at Tetrick Funeral Home - Bluff City Chapel with Father Anietie Akata officiating. Interment will follow in Morning View Cemetery, Bluff City with Military Honors accorded by The Tennessee National Guard. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. To those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the Alzheimer's Association, NE Tn Chapter, 207 N. Boone Street, Johnson City, Tennessee, 37604. The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M., Sunday, March 6, 2005 in the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Bluff City.
